Many years ago, I leased Scarlet Hills Samson from Janet Kracker at Kracker Ranch. We had more doe kids that year than I could count, far too many fancy ones to choose between, and it was a difficult choice to only keep a few of them. Combined with needing to cut back dramatically when I started work after college, and we were so pleased when Janet & Lynn wanted to add Star to their herd. Several years later, and Janet herself was selling out due to school and personal reasons. So Star and several others joined our herd.
Star is an extremely dairy doe, she's deep, wide, angular, sharp, open ribbed, and has the strength to support everything else. I've only attended a couple of shows a year recently, and rarely caught her in "bloom" for a photograph. She's passed all of her strengths on to her daughters, and has been a very consistent producer for us, as have her offspring. |
