Encore was our final kid out of SGCH Cadenza, and we lost her several days after kidding with him. We crossed her on Stingray that year to add some stature, especially length of bone throughout, hopefully without losing the rest of her style and production.
Encore matured just how I would have hoped. He is incredibly correct, very dairy, strong, and his kids have been beautiful. When I realized that cutting back to just 5 or 6 LaMancha does meant I could only keep one buck, I was tempted to keep him. Until I realized that he was quite related to 3 of my definite keepers. As someone who tries to avoid "linebreeding", I just can't justify keeping him to essentially let him sit. |
