Captivate is one of those does who just steals your heart and works her way into the heart of the herd. A moderate frame sized doe, she's long bodied, excels in dairy strength, may have the best rear udder (attachment, medial, width, capacity, you name it) that we've ever bred, milks well and consistently, is an absolute love, and is laid back in the pen with the other does. Did I mention she's a dream to hand milk?
She always throws doe kids, and I have yet to see one who I wasn't tempted to retain, and actually, I usually do for at least a year or two. Captivate has been at the heart of our program for several years now, and although it wouldn't be possible to fill her dams shoes, she's done an excellent job of trying. |
