Eternity exemplifies Rachel's type of Nubian. We spent several years using the top bucks in the breed via lease or AI, and at the end of it, cut back to just a handful of does that exemplified the style of doe we were reaching for. Eternity checks all of the boxes.
In today's Nubian breed, it's becoming harder and harder to find sound feet and legs, let along truly correct ones, and rear udder attachments that are even on the same continent as the vulva are few and far between. Eternity has a clean, correct front end, a long and strong topline, legs that all track straight with strong pasterns and correct rear leg angulation, and a mammary system that we wish we could clone onto every doe in the barn - of either breed. She's the reason why we've hung onto the Nubians even while desperately trying to cut back on goats. And she's the reason they're so difficult to part with at this time. It took us 20 years to breed a doe like her... And we know it won't be possible to get back into Nubians in the future and find another that even comes close. |
